After living in Nebraska for three years, for Bryan Broadcasting Sports Director and WTAW morning show co-host Tom Turbiville has returned the Bryan/College Station
Turbiville was a fixture on the “Insomniacs” morning show on WTAW from 1993 until he retired in 2012,and moved with his wife Judy to Beatrice, NE, to be closer to three of their five grandchildren.
“We had a wonderful three years in Nebraska, reconnecting with our grandkids and watching all their activities,” Turbiville said. “But Texas is home and particularly the Brazos Valley. We are thrilled to be back. I’ve never been retired in Texas and we’re looking forward to it.”
Listeners will be able hear Turbiville back on the in a part-time capacity. During football season he is producing halftime features for Bryan Broadcasting’s seven high school football broadcasts.He is also providing color commentary for Navasota Rattler football, and soon is scheduled to revive the “Bravo Brazos Valley” feature that he conceived in 1999.
Turbiville is also the co-host of the Aggie football FanZone Radio Show that originates live outside the North end of Kyle Field before all A&M football games.
“I had a blessed 23 years in radio in the Brazos Valley and particularly the last 19 years working with Scott DeLucia and Ben Downs on WTAW,” Turbiville said. “I really appreciate the opportunity to come back in retired role with the radio stations and I look forward to getting back involved with the community.”
